Came across this editorial that reminded me of Wong Kar-wai’s movies, sort of L.A meets Chungking Express.

I’ve always enjoyed Wong Kar-wai’s movies, aesthetics in his films are breathtakingly beautiful. Like in the film In the Mood for Love.

No wonder Mr Wong has influenced so many other films (Enter the Void, Lost In Translation etc.) and countless fashion editorials. Neon city lights, grubby diners, back seat of a taxi… seemingly mundane yet so very magical environments, flawlessly executed. This candy coloured squalor is what I’m most definitely feeling this summer.

There’s just always something very appealing in a woman wearing men’s clothes. Anna Dello Russo has done amazing work with the styling and Milla in her short hair is the perfect choice for the model. I just love suits and wool jackets at the moment. There’s also bit of an italian ganster feeling to these photos….like a ganster on a holiday by the seaside, perhaps?

Erika Works X Indian Summer

We are proud to announce that from this day on we are collaborating with Erika Works. You can get any item bought from us customised by Erika for a special price as below. Please save your Indian Summer price tag or receipt (or just book the appointment via us) to prove that you bought the item from us and please note that YOU need to provide at least a rough design for the customisation. Erika Works can do the design for you from scratch but charges extra. She also has some default designs you can use if that’s your thing.

Drip paint

Drip paint customisation on shoes, bags, jackets etc. 28,00 €

Small paint jobs

Small paint jobs (small image on the shoes, small bag etc.) 55,00 €

s14s

Large paint jobs (large bags, whole shoes, A4 sized jacket back paint job etc.) 70,00 €

Large paint job

All over paint jobs, whole jackets etc. ask Erika Works for a quote as the amount of work hours varies greatly. You still get a discount, though.

Anything made of leather, faux leather, plastic or denim can be customised. The paint jobs are permanent and you can care the leather items as before.

You can check out more ideas from her website. You can book an appointment via us or email Erika Works directly at erikawrks (at) gmail (dot) com. Her workshop is located at Fleminginkatu 2, Helsinki. You can obviously ask Erika about other customisations as well.

In addition we’ve added hand painted Erika Works leather earrings to our selection. These are made in Finland from recycled leather and are (obviously) nickel free.
